Human-centered
Technology should enhance, not replace, the human touch at the front desk. Every feature puts people first.
About HiBridge
We build technology that enhances human connection, not technology that replaces it. HiBridge, formerly Virtual Sally, was born inside real clinics, built by people who ran their own multi-site front desk.
Our story
HiBridge was born inside real clinics. Built by physical therapists who ran their own multi-site practice, it grew out of a problem they lived every day: patients waiting in line, receptionists juggling phones and paperwork, and the human connection getting lost in the chaos.
They knew there had to be a better way, not automation that removes the human element, but smart technology that frees staff to focus on what matters most: the people in front of them.
The result, HiBridge, formerly known as Virtual Sally, is a patented platform where people check in seamlessly at a kiosk yet still connect with real, caring receptionists who now support every location.
Our mission
To give every visitor a warm, professional welcome, combining real people with smart technology so every visit feels personal at every location.
Technology should enhance, not replace, the human touch at the front desk. Every feature puts people first.
Your data is sacred. We keep it secure and show no sensitive information on screens.
Designed by people who ran their own multi-site front desks and know the real rhythm of a busy day.
Your success is our success. We are not a vendor, we are your partner at the front desk.
Founders
Wendy began her physical therapy career with a group that served many practice settings, building a wide range of experience before founding her own private practice, Lucas Therapies, in 1992. The practice grew to 10 clinics and, in 2020, merged with a larger group.
Throughout its growth, Lucas Therapies embraced cutting-edge technology. In 2015 the group pioneered a virtual front desk engagement, creating HiBridge, which has since been adopted by practices nationwide.
Wendy attended the University of Richmond on the Scholars Program and earned her degree in physical therapy from the Medical College of Virginia. She was voted top physical therapist, and Lucas Therapies was recognized as the top physical therapy practice in Southwest and Central Virginia for two decades.
A successful serial entrepreneur, Mark has extensive experience building technology startups, assembling highly effective teams, and achieving successful exits. He began his career with Xerox Corporation, and during that time he and his wife Wendy founded Lucas Therapies, which grew to 10 clinics in Virginia.
He left Xerox to start his first software company, ProVox Technologies, an early pioneer in voice-to-text technology and EMR focused on the physical therapy space. After winning Microsoft’s Product of the Year Award in the Emerging Technologies Sector in 2000, the company was sold soon after.
Mark, with two partners, then became the first franchisee of Five Guys Burgers & Fries, building 11 stores and exiting in 2010. Since then he has helped build HiBridge and consulted for emerging technology companies. He is a proud Virginia Tech alumnus and a former state chair of the Young President’s Organization.
Mark explains the patented, end-to-end virtual reception system in our technology write-up.
HiBridge is the trading name of Mill Mountain Technologies, based at 535 Campbell Ave SW, Roanoke, Virginia 24018. The company was previously known as Virtual Sally. How we handle personal information is set out in our privacy policy.
